Guest guest
Rodney and all, I've been taking the Mirapex for several months now...such peace! HOWEVER, I think it's time to up the dose. (I am only on .125 mg 3 times a day) By night time I am one big jittery nerve ending! I have a little massager that hubby bought me for my foot long ago before I found the Thumper........last night I put the little massager on low and wrapped it to my foot with a big old Ace bandage. Hubby was complaining about the hummmmm but it was working and it was saving him from having to massage my foot - so he quickly shut up and stopped complaining. I went to sleep around 11:00 p.m. and woke up about 12:30 a.m., took the massager off of my foot and slept like a baby for the rest of the night! Geez, this worked so great I'll be tempted to do the same every night to fall asleep.......does anyone know if this would be harmful to my foot in any way????? I used to put ice in a Ziplock freezer bag and " freeze " my foot for about an hour before I went to sleep but the doctor told me that was very dangerous! Neuropathy or something. Now I wonder if the little massager is harmful. What do you think? Rodney, I hope you were finally able to get to sleep last night. I swear it is Springtime causing such extreme RLS symptoms - rainy, cold, sunny, warm, windy, everything thrown at us at once...I am in the Ohio Valley and our weather here is so changeable. Guest guest
Thanks for the e-mails regarding mirapex. Several of you indicated that it is known that drugs don't always work for a time, but when it doesn't work for a while do you switch to something else or does it finally decide to work again. I have gone a week now without good sleep, I haven't had any dreams, and my husband says I toss and turn all night. I am back to where I was in July, nodding off driving because I am so sleep deprived. The dr. said to give up caffeine, even decaf teas and chocolate. I have given up caffeinated drinks, but chocolate is almost impossible. Have any others given up caffeine and chocolate, and has it helped? Thanks for your help, Angie ************************************************************************ Angella Phone 244-5785 Staff Secretary, Sensory and Testing Accommodations FAX Div. of Rehabilitation Education Services University of Illinois 1207 S. Guest guest
Tina, the Klonopin is what helps me sleep. I'm not sure what is going on with the Mirapex. I have read from others here about the insommnia. I also read about neck pain, which I have and feels like a burning sensation in the back of my neck. But, the thing that dawned on me today is that I have had a cough --on and off--since before Thanksgiving and that was around the time I started taking the Mirapex. My xrays are clear. My primary doctor says it is allergies. But I have had allergies all my life and never had this type of sympton and the allergy meds have no effect on this sporatic, but persistent cough. Here's my question. Has anyone developed a cough while taking Mirapex? Lindy B. in Southeast Texas wellscon wrote: > LindyB: > > I just read your post to Rodney about your Mirapex doseages.
