Guest guest
Dear Group, For the past ten years painkillers have been the best and only thing that I can almost always count on to stop my RLS. I never just take it on a preventative basis, though, because I am afraid of dependence or it losing its effectiveness. Klonopin and Neurontin worked sometimes and sometimes not, but my codeine or any painkiller for that matter, will do it every time. Once in a great while, I will need two of them.....but that is very rare. I rarely take this for my severe arthritic pain because I need it to work at night for my RLS. I am using is on occasion now while my garden work is the heaviest and the pain makes me sit down every fifteen minutes or so. But this is not something I do often. I never reach the point where I feel the " need " to take it.....and I never take it just for the " feeling " I have heard some describe, so I assume I am not addicted to it in any way. I can go a week or two with none........and if I have a bad time where I have to take it every night, I will definitely stop for a few days after five of them. On my long flights from Baltimore to Los Angeles, this is the ONLY sure thing for keeping me still in my seat. Thank the Lord!!! Guest guest
In the past I've taken Percocet for RLS and it didn't help. Besides I have personal reservations about taking something with codeine several times a day. Since I've been having trouble with insomnia I've gone back to taking it just before bedtime and it has helped tremendously. So I continue to take the Permax three times a day and add the Percocet at bedtime. I tried the Tylenolol PM instead of the Percocet and it was less than useless. CHEERS!! Guest guest
One additional note. I only took the percocet during the day in the most painful first few days after dental work. After that I took it only at bedtime for sleep. COCO MO. Jeanne Robbins wrote: > > > In the past I've taken Percocet for RLS and it didn't help. Guest guest
Hello, I am new to the list and so starting at square one. Could someone please share their experiences with Percocet and related medications regarding RLS with me. I have a physician that is very hesitant to prescribe it for me despite the fact that it is about the only thing that has worked in the past for me without other unpleasant side effects after various surgeries. Where is the best place to obtain information that would be relative to print out for my physician to read and consider also. Thanks in advance. e ( spelled differently, bless my parents for that) in San Diego County, CA. ****************************************************************** >Thanks to all who shared their experiences with Percocet and related >medications regarding RLS.
