Guest guest
Hi Chen, I just read the letter from Gretchen and I have to agree. Over my life, I too have had all sorts of weird pain and unexplainable pain, especially in my hands and legs, I know, CMT. I have found a few doctors(after interviewing many) and am learning to trust them and their opinions. I am fortunate enough to have found doctors that I can share my new information about CMT with and they listen to my complaints and concerns.I hope you too can find some. It makes life easier and more tolerable . I think you should find a good neurologist, talk to them. They can probably explain what it is and if you'll get it again. If you lived near Northeast Wisconsin, I'd be glad to tell you about my doctors, they are great! May Kindness and Compassion come your way , Michele
Guest guest
Hi, Chen ... I have played the harmonica since I was nine years old. During the past two years, I have started to get cramps in my hands when I play for extended periods of time ... the cramps are painful. I don't know if your hand pain is accompanied by cramps or not ... but mine is.
Guest guest
Hi Chen: When I hold a phone with my weaker left hand for an extended conversation, my fingers get a cramped in that position and I can get pains down the arm, and unless I support my arm so it's in a rested position, I can get pain in the shoulder as well. This could be what happened to you - give it a day or two and see if it gets better. I also have recently had numbness in the lower portion of my middle finger which has not gone away. Lately, I have had chronic problems in these areas. When I walk for short distances, I use a forearm crutch on my left side, and I'm sure this contributes to the arm stress as well as constantly boosting myself up from chairs, etc. It's wear and tear on already weak limbs. I'm glad my right side is not having the same trouble.
