Guest guest
Just reading a blurb written by some know-it-all who stated that a study from Mayo Clinic revealed the secret of " thin " people: they burn excess calories by fidgeting - stretching, standing up, moving their legs, etc. Well, excuse me, but I do all of that fidgeting a lot due to my RLS and I am not one of those " lucky " thin people! If fidgeting controls weight, then all of us RLS'ers should be " thin " people, right? For me, it works just the opposite. When I am up late at night fidgeting due to my RLS, I just " fidget " my way to the refrigerator and help myself to some to feed my fat face. " fidgeting myself to fatness " RAINBOWPED@... Especially since I've started this Mirapex, all I do is eat (or think about it, then eat, then get angry with myself for giving in to the urge to eat). You know, my dog is on a diet and is doing really well. Of course, he can't eat unless I say so, and then *I* control the amount. I think I need a food police to be watching me!! , 35, Atlanta
Guest guest
Exactly right! When I enlisted in the Navy I weighed 115 lbs, had a 19 inch waist and was 5 ft 7 and a half inches tall. Now some 50 years later I've lost about an inch in height and am ashamed to say I'm obese. I'm more sedentary than when I was young but like said, all this fidgeting, stalking around the house in the dead of night AND during the day should have kept me a bit thinner than I am. I do nibble a lot maybe subconsciously thinking that if my mouth is busy chewing and swallowing the RLS will subside. Wishful thinking. Anyhow I have three months to get my LDL down 53 points. Oi! No more fats except olive oil a bit, no more cookies, cake, ice cream etc etc. More exercise, long walks with Mr. Biggles and I'd better get out the bike and put some air into the tires. The whole prospect is pretty dismal but I don't want to take any more pills. Besides those cholesterol lowing meds have a lot of bad side effects. Oh well, one good aspect is that maybe I can begin looking decent in clothes again! CHEERS!! Jeanne and Mr. Biggles in Poultney VT
