I will sometimes clean them with Listerine (yep! ). Sometimes I will clean them with rubbing alcohol but I think that is a no-no..........I will have to pull out the instructions again. When they get too dirty, I usually just ditch them and buy some more. They aren't cheap but then again, a really nasty sinus or nose infection ain't " cheap " either, if you know what I mean. I was prescribed my CPAP machine and sent on my merry way. The medical supply company did not even know how to put it together nor how to operate it; however, they sure did know how much it cost and how to process my credit card, if you know what I mean! ha! Ive heard 2 different stories. I heard no because there is a chance it could rupture the surgery and cause a leak due to the high pressure and I have heard yes that its a must. Allan Alan I don't know what that machine is or what it is used for but I would suggest speaking to your surgeon and PCP before using anything that could harm you. Guest guest
i have to say that this is an amazing thing - i had the sleep study done and i have restless leg syndrom but not apnea but after i had it i had my dr order one for my husband b/c i knew he had it - sure enough - he comes home with the machine and no more snoring and he says he can tell because now when he wakes up he feels like he slept all night - b/c he did - b4 he slept all night but was sleepy all day and swore he didn't sleep - i'm up very late - usually till 3 am and i told him i guarantee you - you slept - sawing logs but you slept. i put it on a few min last night and that is the strangest feeling and he says it takes getting used to - its a wonderful thing but i'm glad i don't have to wear it. visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com -- Re: met the surgeon Of all the tests, a sleep test is probably the easiest and pain free of them all. I too have a serious case of apnea. I can sleep lying down, but usually end up sitting up and sleeping. I also sleep a lot, which the doctor said is caused by the apnea. Unfortunately it is in the most inappropriate times, like in lecture (I'm a student), on the road (so now I don't drive very far), and even on the phone or typing. I am one of the few who can't use a CPAP machine, but I have heard that they help greatly. Also a comorbitiy that the insurance co. look for. This is one test not to be frightened of. Take your PJ's and favorite teddy, go there, and go to sleep. boogie pre op
