I am a size 5 1/2 with wide toe and narrow heel; I've been told I have a D

toe and an A heel. Usually I buy a 6 for AFO's or orthotics. I can not wear

slip on shoes because my toes don't work right to keep them on. I also

can't wear anything with much of a heel. I did find though, that

Birkenstock sandals with a backstrap (the Arizona model) helped to unfurl my

previously curled hammer toes. New Balance is also good. When it comes to

dress shoes though, I am one woman who hates shoe shopping!!

Seems I read something about bottom of someone's feet hurting when walking

to the pool at the YMCA. Put on shower slippers, it works

My feet were always 5 1/2 but now I wear 6 1/2 because of orthotics.
