Guest guest
Hi April, Wow, tough question, as we all with CMT are so different. As a kid, when I was diagnosed with CMT I was always worried about the future. Wondered if I would die, or worse yet, be trapped in a wheelchair. Obviously I am not dead, and my daily activities/life do not require a wc. I think I expected the worst for myself (is that a negative attitude or what?) and that has not happened. The best I can do is to tell you to keep on living your life, find out positive ways to conserve your physical energy, what Kat said about meditation is a great idea. That has helped me stay serene. Maybe try yoga or tai chi. Have some fun everyday. Develop new interests and hobbies. Help others (even in such small ways as telephoning a friend who's having a problem) There are a million ways to live well. Just because we have CMT, life doesn't stop for us. My own CMT hasn't progressed much at all. I am just aging normally (and well lol), and really the aches I have are just due to that, not CMT. CMTUS is here for you, anytime!
