Guest guest
This is a repeat of a letter I sent last year...regarding itchy skin treatments. Always be sure to question any meds you are on, too. They CAN cause the itching problem. Here's one oil, that's helped a lot of people with that dry cold air overall body itch that comes in the Fall and Winter.....how's THAT for a description? Try Neutragena's " Body Oil...the sensual moisturizer....Light sesame formula. " It's fairly expensive...about $10 for the 8.5 oz bottle, but I've also found small sample bottles of it. Here's the trick. YOu put it all over you AFTER your shower..and while you are still slightly damp. It works WITH the residual water from the shower, after you've just lightly patted yourself dry. I discovered this about 15 years ago, when a friend and I were going nuts, scratching everywhere! Her hubby had his own little pharmacy...so..we just started trying every product in his shop. This stuff works!!! My grandmother used it when she was 80+....and it's the only thing that stopped her itching...which might have been caused by meds, too. I've given it to many people and never heard that it didn't work. So...you're on your own from here. And for a cheap natural anti-itch formula...works great on chicken pox.....take and old CLEAN sock. Put a handful of oatmeal in the bottom of it. (Quick or old fashioned..doesn't matter.) Tie a knot in the sock, just above the wad of oatmeal. Hold it under warm water, until it's soaked. Then, either squeeze the milky lotion into a bowl, or just dab the sock all over you...getting the white milky lotion where it itches. If you squeeze it into a bowl...you can just keep dipping your fingers in it and rubbing it on like lotion. It's MUCH cheaper than buying oatmeal lotions, Calamine, etc....... Good luck!!!
