Guest guest
Jeanie and all: This PSS from does NOT look like harrassment or taunting to me at all. Were it to be harrassment, it would have to read something like this: " Sorry Ms. " I-Have-To-Have-A-Bibliography " Stout, I don't have the scientific references to prove this to your closed mind, so you'll have to look them up yourself or take my word for it. " And even THAT would be a VERY weak form of harrassment! As a system administrator, if I received a complaint such as yours, I would probably recommend that YOU install a filter in your email that would automatically delete any messages from , since you seem to take offense at every comment he makes. Please, people...let's stop the petty bickering. If anyone wants to see REAL harrassment, I'll be more than happy to oblige...*sarcastic grin* Let's try to be a bit less thin-skinned, and think about what we read before we reply to it. was simply apologizing for NOT having the references you asked for, NOT trying to taunt you for asking for that information. Quite often, we will run across statistics that get stuck in our heads, but we can't really remember the source for those statistics. In most cases, the source is unimportant at best...as Mark Twain once said, " There are 3 kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. " For any set of statistics that say one thing, I'm fairly sure SOMEONE could find another set of statistics that say the opposite. Therefore, why worry so much about the sources? > > > This is what harassment is all about. Guest guest
Jeff, you reminded me of a course I once took at the Community College entitled " How to Lie With Statistics " . It certainly taught me to look at statistics with a jaundiced eye. Cheers! Jeanne and Mr. Biggles in Poultney VT
