Dear Group,

This group has a list moderator. If you feel the group is going in a

detrimental direction, or needs guidance it isn't getting, you might want

to first contact the list moderator, Jodi: jmjudson@...

She will be able to either tell you where you are misunderstanding the

purpose of the group, or she will thank you for reporting your complaint

and she'll handle it appropriately. She'll also have an idea of whether

you are the only one with the complaint or whether your opinion is shared

by many and needs to be addressed.

Keep in mind, this is a support group...with an evidently heavy emphasis on

" support " . It is not a newsgroup or a medical FAQ site. There are other

sources on the Internet where you can get information, medical advice, or

do research without having the personal input of a support group. If you

do a search for RLS, you'll find these. If you need help finding these,

I'm sure members of this group can help you. For some people, the less

personal lists are a much better way to go. Instead of getting daily

emails, the questions and answers are posted to a website. You can look

down the list of questions and answers and just pick topics that interest

you, when YOU have the time and interest.

Another idea, is to remain subscribed to the RLS support group, but go to

your account page and set it up so you do NOT receive any mail. This can

always be done if you go on vacation or have a busy spell. Then, you will

still be subscribed, but you won't get mail...BUTTTTTT, you'll be able to

get in and view the archives whenever you want. The archives have all the

Digests. Each digest begins with a list of the names of the writers and

the subjects of that day's emails. It would be a pretty quick process to

go to the archives, periodically, and just scroll through the beginnings of

each digest to see if there's a subject or trend of discussion which would

interest you.

To view your account status or the view the archives, follow these

instructions from a past email from Jodi:

" I just want everybody to know, especially the newcomers, that you can

review all of the " archives " of this list since I moved it to this server on

Oct. 25, 1998. To do this, just go to http://www.onelist.com Press " User

Center " ; type in your e-mail address (the one that you are subscribed to the

list under); and type in your password; If you don't know your password, you

can input your e-mail address and there is an option to have your password

mailed to you, which you will get within a few minutes. Then, on the user

center page, once you have logged in, you will see the lists that you

are subscribed to [and whether you are in the Digest or Regular version,

and whether you are set up to get mail or not]. Just press on " rlssupport "

and you will be taken to a page

where you will see " View Archives " . Just press it and read on.... "

The Internet is wonderful, but it DOES consume a lot of time. Try to stay

in control of your computer time and use it to YOUR best advantage. A

support group is NOT for everyone.
