Guest guest
Rose, This is a from eugene, Oregon. My 13 yo daughter has been diagnosed with CMT since age 8. she was a lively, energetic child who played soccer and softball. She started tripping and getting very tired. Her coaches called her lazy. We finally had her looked at by a family physican who referred us right away to a nuerologist. My daughter then became heavier and it has been a battle ever since to try to keep weight off her and balance some exercise with her. I find adults are the worst. They peek at her from behind clothing racks at stores and stare. Kids are more up front " did you break your legs or something? " However, when we explain her problem or better yet, when she explains her problem, most people are kind and compassionate. Kids fight to take her on rides at amusement parks because she and a companion get special treatment. I think all of this has toughed her up beyond belief. Hang in there with your son. a
