Guest guest
, CMT is in fact one of Social Security disability " bonafide " disabilities, despite the comment the employee made to you! Once I downloaded the list of ALL health/diseases regarded as " disabling " by Social Security. I no longer have the list, but CMT was on there under the neurological section. The main Social Security site is at http://www.ssa.gov/odhome maybe if you surf around there somewhere you will come across the list (it IS extensive!) Applications for Disability are now taking about 2 years, party due to the fraud issue, partly due to so many people applying. You do need to be UNABLE to WORK to receive SSDI (Social Security Disability). Note to our International Members: Here in the States, if a person can no longer work because of disability, a federal government program called Social Security Disability Insurance offers monthly payments to disabled persons, after a somewhat lenghty paperwork process and evaluation by Social Security doctors.
