thank you so much for bringing some sanity to this " war on . " I, too,

find that is not carrying out a narrow-minded diatribe against

alternative medicine... just offering a cautionary note.

I'm not disagreeing with anything Connie said with one small exception. I

took my daughter to an Osteopathic Physician. I've never met a Homeopathic

Physician but hope to someday. As is oft said, there's good and bad in

everything in this life. While cautioning against herbal and other natural

alternative medications we should also be VERY careful about ingesting

allopathic (or " regular " ) medications that are prescribed by our doctors.

There are thousands and thousands of drugs placed on the market every year

and one can't expect their doctor to be an expert on every one of them

before he prescribes one. For the most part I think doctors have to rely on

the drug salesmen that pay frequent visits to their offices. My ex-brother

in law was a salesman for Ayerst so I have at least a glimmer about the

competitiveness in the drug industry.

How many people are given cautionary information along with their

prescriptions? I know a few pharmacies are now handing out that information

but how many people carefully read it? Most folks still have a blind trust

in the medical establishment, and by that I include the pharmaceutical,

herbal, naturopathic, homeopathic etc branches.

As that Sargent on " Hill Street Blues " always admonished: " Now be careful

out there " ...............

CHEERS!!

Jeanne and Mr. Biggles in Poultney, VT

Where, when I think about it, it IS really good to be alive!!!
