Guest guest
Janet... Great letter on " let's check out the other possibilities " . My sister has been VERY ill for several years. She definitely has lupus, along with several other mental and physical things. For years, they just threw drugs and lots of psychological therapy sessions at it. FINALLY, when all else failed and she was down to 98 lbs and dropping, on a 5'9 " body....she went to a different doctor, maybe what you'd call a naturopath. He did tests...who knows what they were or why other doctors don't do them, more often? He actually found out that her body had practically ZERO of what it needed to function. No amino acids or vitamins or minerals to speak of. Whether this was from all those years of meds that were depleting everything, or whether for some unknown reason her body just ate all that up...who knows. But my question is, WHY aren't we all testing for these things??? Why can't we go through something like a metal detector in an airport and get a printout that says, " This body doesn't have ferritin, or enough calcium, etc. etc. " And BTW...I want to be able to have these tests without then having four months of bills and fighting with the doctor and insurance companies to pay for it their part, or bill me my portion correctly. I'm not asking too much, am I? Just venting. And agreeing with you. It's also so easy to be thrilled that we've discovered our " problem " and then quit looking for other contributing factors. Some of us keep looking, but all we get is more labels, so we can say I've got these five syndromes. But then, we get so caught up in the treatments, that we don't have the time, energy, or money, to look at WHY do I have these and is there anything I can do to build up my body's resources and help myself. (I'm NOT blaming anyone for being weak or lazy, etc. etc. I'm sympathizing and throwing myself into the same situation!!) Of course, in some cases, there's not much we can do to help ourselves...but in most cases, between diet and added nutrients and exercise....yea...we could be doing more and checking out more things. If only we were perfect and had an endless supply of energy. Ain't it just darn frustratin'????? Hang in there. Keep searching. I'll pray for your ability to get rest, so you can keep thinking clearly and fighting your battles.
