Guest guest
In my family, my red-haired sister had the temper but not the CMT. My mom and I had/have the CMT, but not the temper. The best way to fire up my sis was to mention red hair and the word temper in the same sentence. LOL I was the baby sister so I never dared to risk her temper. My mom had almost endless patience in spite of having 5 kids, three of whom were very mischievous and tried everyone's patience! Mom smiled and endured. Neither mom nor I had/has an impatient personality or a temper. Kat
Guest guest
Hi Jim and Tony, my grandmother used to call me " hot-headed " but I never really understood why. Until in my teens, my mother called me that too! Later on, I realized I did tend to get a wee bit frustrated, impatient, critical, and plain angry!!!! Some of this was 'situational', some is just personality, I guess. I'd like to think I've 'mellowed' a bit with age. lol I am 47! Now and then, I tend to get impatient, looks like that one's for life. I am and have always been real outgoing/extrovert, I wonder if that, along with personality, has anything to do with it! I have to say meditation and working in my garden keeps me in check! I don't know if 'tempers' has a relationship to CMT or not! Great topic! Guest guest
Hello ! Yes, my " CMT-father " has a very hot temper and I can imagine that his CMT-problems (a lot of pain fatigue and smaller movingdifficulties) can contribute to that (especially when he sometimes drink too much alcohol to get som " relief " ) . But if a hot temper goes with our " CMTgenes " I don´t know. For myself; I get quite excited easily and I talk very fast, sometimes like I can´t stop myself, like I´m loosing control over my talking. But if these things only depends on my personallity or not, who knows? But lately I have begin to realize that as much as I have to move slowely for not stumbling I also have to try to slow down my talking to avoide stumbling on my words. Does anyone else talk too fast? Guest guest
Hi everyone, could it be possible that the temper is a sign of tension? I am a very nervous person and even as a child I was very nervous. I think about a lot of things and problems and try to solve them. I know this is my personality but I ask myself if other people with cmt have the same problems with nervousness. I mean the nerves are degenerating and perhaps this has an effect on the whole psychic tension in the body. Looking at myself I see that my hot temper often comes when it is too much for me to explain something or when something goes wrong. Last sunday I lost my temper because my boyfriend didn' t do the things he should have done. At the moment I cannot do the housework because of my surgery and so he is doing most things. But he always forgets to feed our cats. And this makes me furious. But in reality it makes me nervous that I can' t do it by myself!
