Guest guest
Joan, I don't think there are many of us taking antidepressants to treat our RLS, although a few doctors actually have prescribed them. There are just so very many of us who are depressed, and we are trying to treat that problem, as well as our RLS. All of this depression is most likely caused or aggravated by lack of sleep and the pressures put on our whole lives by this..........and some of it is caused, I believe, by our medications........as well as withdrawing from certain medications. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year, as many others in the group have been, and my research shows that the thinking about FMS is that it can be caused by depression and sleep problems..........which is why FMS is quite often treated with an antidepressant. There is still an awful lot to be learned about this condition. It seems that when you have restless leg syndrome, you open up a great big can of worms. It is a horrendous affliction, even causing problems when you are hospitalized or ill with other things. But you know..........I'll still take it over a lot of other stuff that is out there, like heart disease, cancer, stroke, kidney and liver disease, etc, etc, etc............. Have a good day........
