Hi Peggie and everyone, Rose-Marie is here We have exactly the same situation in our family. My father can´t talk about it and he would never agree with that he has CMT (he has a typical CMT foot with high arches etc. and suffers a lot from pain in his legs and feet). Well I think now it´s just sad for him . He drinks too much alcohol to cope with the pains and takes medicines which probably are no good for him and toxic for the nerves to. I must say I feel bitter when I think of all those doctors he have been visitting during the years (for example orthopedics) who never have sent him to a neuro for investigation. Of course I have tried to talk to him but I have now realized I have to let it go. It´s his life and choice. Guest guest
Hi Rose-Marie, Peggie here. I guess I was lucky. My Dad came around before he passed away, and opened up about CMT. But, since most of his family still won't discuss it, he was careful about it! He did discuss it with me and my husband the last five years or so of his life. He was a good man. Just raised strict, and different!!! Hope your Dad comes around.. Does make life easier!!! Re(2): DNA tests > From: Rose-Marie.Isakson@...
