Jeanine, SSDI (full acronym) is Social Security Disability Insurance.

(what people pay into from their work years) SSI (acronym) is

Supplemental Security Insurance, and yes, far as I know people can have

both. Different funds, more paperwork, I think. Why not call your local

office and inquire?

SSDI= DISABILITY before age of retirement.

SSI=regular Social Security, based upon age.
