Guest guest
In answer to your question, I myself have actually gotten alot of mean-spirited comments from people. At my old job, i had a stool to sit on, and once I had a customer call me a 'f***ing cripple', and have had alot of comments made to me about how people 'like me' are a burden on society and the economy. I have been called a parasite on America. (Believe it or not.) The only thing that I've usually noticed (I have braces, legs & hands) is the staring i get all the time. The only other thing that's ever happened to be, is I got called a cripple as i was walking down the street by a kid. He must've been ten or eleven. but that's it, and i think, for as long as I've had problems, that isn't so bad. It could be much worse. I didn't have the braces in high school, so the only thing i really had issues with was my physical incapacity, I couldn't do ANYthing. My hands weren't half as bad then as they are now, so i suppose i got spared alot of it. samantha ===== To act well in this world, one must die within oneself. Guest guest
I had someone leave me a nasty note on the window...........said that she never used her mom's handicapped sticker and I should not use someone elses sticker.........the fact that she saw me walk fairly normal..no braces/wheelchair appeared that I was not handicapped, when in fact if I lifted up my pants she would have seen that I have a problem. In other words, if people cannot see the disability then it does not exist. WRONG. She probably saw me walk into the store and figured I do not have a problem, how dare I park in a handicapped space. I wish she would have confronted me in the parking lot, because I sure would have a few words with her to show her just how wrong she was. Fw: CMT and 'hate' Hi Gretchen!!!! Becca here!! I have had people comment to me about my handicapped parking sticker many many many times! Sometimes I just ignore them. Other times I say something in a nice tone of voice and then there are times when I get crappy right back at em!!! LOL-- but I don't let it get to me. Guest guest
Hi There, Joanie here, I too, have a handicap card for the front window. I've carried with me everywhere I go. I have never, never had anyone say anything to me. I think it is because I carry a cane. That is an obvious sign there is something wrong!!!! Guest guest
Believe it or not, i actually worked at the Art Center in Minneapolis. The clientele there was horrible. At the end of Feb., they fired me because they thought I was incapable of doing my job three months after i told them i have CMT. __________________________________________________
