Guest guest
Dear Group: A few months ago I read an article about Ultram being used quite successfully for many people with RLS. In fact, I showed it (but did not give it) to my doctor. Now I can't find it. (My house is being completely remodeled and everything is in a mess, so it's not surprising I can't find what I want.) Ultram has been very helpful in getting my legs quiet, and if I stop it even for one day, the wiggling sets in. I also take clonazepan because it stops the creepy-crawlies and keeps me calmer and helps me sleep. My problem is, the pharmacy with my HMO now wants to provide only generics, and of course Ultram has no generic. My doctor goes to battle for me each time I need a 90-day refill, but he suggested that I copy that article, and send it to the pharmacist, along with an explanation of how I have had RLS for 70 years, and in it's severest form so that I got little or no sleep for the past 10-15 years, and that Ultram has been the only medication that has stopped the condition. He says that maybe the pharmacist will decide that giving me the Ultram at their co-pay price is cheaper than having to pay for all my medication for depression and psychotherapist visits, and the multitude of problems that develop when one is stressed to the max. So, please, if anyone knows the article I am speaking of, please let me know where I can find it, or if you have it, e-mail me and I'll give you my home address to snail mail a copy of it to me. I thought I'd seen it in a RLSFoundation newsletter, but can't find it. I thought it might have come from the Foundation in some other literature, and can't find it there. Sorry I can't remember the title, but it talked about Ultram being helpful in many RLS cases. Of course, right now, with all the remodeling going on, I'm lucky to find my head, or the computer, and I certainly can't find my memory!!! Thanks guys.
