Socials on our planet are a class of beings unfitted for a solitary life, they need companionship, they are interdependent, practice the division of labor, grow thickly together monopolizing the ground they grow on, spread social diseases, and are funded by mandatory contributions. Socials are communal, common and collective bugs! What we have here is a communication problem, it is called " social war " (a war fought between allies). RAINBOWPED@... Guest guest
Although I don't mind listening to squabbles. I really hate it when I must enter the arena also. I do not think Kdg. or the Public School System should be responsible for teaching " social skills " . I never realized that you had to go to kdg. to obtain them. I never went, so did I learn no social skils from family, church & neighborhood? We're trying to push children into earlier and earlier required schooling. Based on how society is advancing now, do you really think " social skills " have improved due to kdg ? I think not. Can you look over the past twenty years and say there is less violence, more concern about your fellowman, less teen pregnancies (especially since sex ed.), less STD's ? I could go on & on, but need less to say, I'm sure many of you have tuned me out already. Don't give me that stuff about there being good kids out there and we're just giving teens a bad rap because of a few " confused' children . I already know there are good kids out there, and a lot of them, but we as a society are dropping the ball by thinking it is the responsibility of schools to teach " social skills " . WE took prayer out of schools, but we sure call on it and have no court fights over it when someone is gunning down our children. Social skills, vaiues and morals need to back in families and families need to be families again. We need to quit relying on the school to convey social skills when we don't even know what they believe. We need to take our families to worship together, teach our children to love and care for others, and to get rid of the " ME FIRST " attitude that has become so popular. Fire away at me, I don't mind. I stand strong behind my beliefs and my convictions. Ninette
