Guest guest
, That would be my whole point, I dont understand how Ritalin could possibly help you sleep, but on the other hand why give it to kids with adhd? Because it has the opposite effect on them. (or however you want to put it). Thanks Ninnette for your contribution, I guess that shows that even in the same family it can have different effects. I have no plans of trying it, just something different that a friend mentioned. mary

A wonderful world indeed! Why not just legalize cocaine and speed and cut the chase and cut out the middleman (physicians, drug companies). Yes, we could all use a " little line " and/or " hit " to get us going each morning, eh? Be forewarned that we are playing with fire when we (RLS'ers) claim that our brains are NOT normal and we are NOT " normal " people. Uh oh! RAINBOWPED@... Guest guest
I don't know what ritalin and coke have in common but... The discussion about RLS and ADHD ...ritalin took place last year or longer ago with the original group and I remember reading that both RLS and ADHD have been found to be within the same gene as well as Obsessive Compulsive. Interestingly enough, my son is ADHD, I'm RLS and (yes you're right) my husband is OC. Anyway, YES, ritalin does work on the RLS, helping me to sleep or even doing long drives, when the going gets really rough. It has to do with our neurotransmitters responding differently than in " normal " people. To my nowledge, though, no one is prescribing ritalin for RLS.
