I say my Dr. again yesterday, he was very concerned that when I tried to

back off the xanax, I got really jittery. I hate that feeling. After

trying for two weeks and not sleeping I went back to a whole dose, I was

exhausted over the weekend and slept 4 1/2 hours sat and 2 1/2 hours

Sunday. Anyway, he says I am getting off of it, and has added to my

antidepressants. I start taking Elavil at night, and zoloft in the

morning. I am to wean myself off the xanax, he doesn't like it and with

me being a recovering alcoholic and needing more and more of the xanax is

not a good thing. He did some blood tests on me and an almost complete

physical. I really like this new Dr. he shows that he cares and doesn't

just throw meds at me without explaining what he thinks and asking for MY

opionion. His main concern right now, is getting me sleeping at night,

so that I feel more like doing things during the day. I told him I had

NO ambition whatsoever and that concerned him, we talked about my short

term memory loss, and sometimes difficulty in concentrating. He called

it a vicious cycle that we have to break. I'm really nervous about

stopping the xanax again, only cause I HATE that feeling that my skin is

crawling off my bones, but I know he is right. It's not the normal

anxiety feelings I get when I have something stressful happen, I can deal

with that more easily than I can this other feeling.

Well, that's the jist of it, I may be leaning on this group quite a bit

for the next few days, hopefully my new prescription will be here today,

and I will start getting off the xanax again... Wish me luck...
