Sometimes it messes up medical insurance if you are pre-diagnoised before signs appear. I had considered having my daughter tested. She is 16 and hasn't showed signs of CMT. Instead my dad had the testing done so that we could find out if we even had one of the CMT's that could be tested for. We don't.... If the tests had come back that we did have one of the testable CMT's, I wouldv'e let my daughter make the decision on testing. She is very concerned about whether she has it or whether she could pass it on.
