Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone else uses sinemet to stop RLS effects during the night. My doctor and I tested it last week and it worked wonders for me, I actually slept all night each night I took it yet I wasn't in a zombie sleep state. From what I could find out its normally used to treat symptoms of parkinson's disease. My doctor also said researchers are looking into a link between RLS and parkinson's disease. I've had RLS since childhood but usually treated it with heat or muscle rub creams. This year not only were my legs effected but also my arms and torso, although it took me sometime to realize it was all the same problem as I also have kyphosis and scoliosis and a mechanical mitral valve. Also I wanted to know if anyone has ever experianced numbness with severe attakcs of RLS? 3 years ago I had a very bad onset of rls in both of my legs while I was at work. The nature of my work prevented me from leaving until I could locate another security supervisor to replace me and then I had to wait for that person to arrive, in the meantime I was stuck in a small guard house during a cold spring down pour. By the time I was able to leave my left foot and lower leg were numb. A trip to the emergency room was no help at all. They gave me 3 injections of demeral which had no effect on my leg at all. Finally a student nurse came in and tossed a steaming hot blanket over my legs, the effect was instant. The doctor finally made the decision I had severe tendonitis in my ankle. I've never had a problem that severe since then. Marcus, 32, Indiana.
