You may indeed find that you have CMT instead of FM, not that it will help your symptoms one way or another. Perhaps it will help how your deal with them. My calves are well-developed and ordinary looking. My toes have been curling in recent years, but otherwise my feet/arches look normal, too. Feet and calves may or may not help diagnose CMT. Family history is very important. Have you been checked for other conditions, such as spinal stenosis? Unfortunately, there are many causes of peripheral neuropathy. CMT syndrome is only one. Take along what you can of your brother's diagnosis. I hope you are making notes of your symptoms and thoughts to take with you to the neuro. While we are at the doctor's our minds can go blank (speaking for myself of course). I am not a medical person.
