Guest guest
Trish & hubby! Thank you so much for the recipes. I do have the Ener G Egg replacer already and you're right...the box recipe produces nasty little rubber disks! I will give both recipes a shot! Guest guest
Cool! Thanks for sending this one in too!!! Alyssa (unknown) These are M,E,S, freePizza crust (dh worked in a pizza shop- so it is yummy)Hello this is dh.I don't know how accurate this recipe is - I just add ingredients until it's the right consistency. This recipe will make 2 thin 14" pizzas.1½ cups of warm water.2 Tablespoons honey (or other sweetner)2-4 Tablespoons olive oil (I like it with 4)1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon active dry yeast-Mix together and let sit until the yeast is nice and foamy.3 cups flour (or thereabouts). Try using wheat for one of the cups sometime for a nice, flavorful change. I add 2 cups immediately and start mixing, adding the third as I go. If you over-flour and it needs more water, add it sooner rather than later - once the gluten begins to develop it's really hard to add water. Mix with dough hook in a Kitchen Aid, or fold and knead like crazy. It should be rubbery. Form into a dough ball and let stand for 10 or so minutes; until it's a bit larger than normal size - keep from drying out by spraying with olive oil or Pam. Get your nearest pizza chef to stretch and toss the dough! No Egg or Milk Pancakes:This recipe uses "Ener-G Egg Replacer - A culinary egg substitute". It's a potato and tapioca starch product. The recipe is a highly modified version of the recipe on the box. The box recipe will make cute little rubber disks with no flavor.1¼ cups all purpose flour¼ teaspoon salt1-2 Tablespoons Baking Powder (how fluffy would you like?)1-2 Tablespoons honey or other sweetner (how sweet do you like?)1¼ cups water - or so (add until the right consistency)1 Tablespoon oil - if you can find a butter flavored safe oil, yum!1 Tablespoon hot water1 teaspoon Ener-G Egg Replacer½-1 cups fresh or melted frozen blueberries (how blue do you like?)Start with the hot water - dissolve the Ener-G Egg Replacer in it. Add one cup flour, then dip another ¼ cup or so and mix the baking powder with it before throwing it in. It doesn't like being undiluted. Add everything else and stir. Add more water until a nice pancake batter consistency. Fry 'em up!

Guest guest
Hi:-) If I were you I would start with a geneticist. Bring baby pictures to the appointment too since the RSS " look " is less obvious to doctors as the children grow older. > > Reply-To: RSS-Support > Date: Fri, 04 Jul 2003 19:00:01 -0000 > To: RSS-Support > Subject: (unknown) > > Hi, > > I have a two year old son who is short statured. Guest guest
Hello Nisha, From this list serve, it sounds like most people go first to a geneticist, and then an endo. The MAGIC convention is July 24-27 in Chicago, and would also be a good place to start. Dr Harbison (an endo from NY that specializes in RSS) will be there, and she would be able to tell you whether your son is RSS or not. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hello Nisha, Welcome to the list. I think someone already mentioned a geneticist - that's what worked for us. (We've actually not seen an endocronologist yet but it looks to be in our future for growth hormone therapy.) My son is quite mild, and the geneticist has yet to give us a 100% diagnosis but as he's very age appropriate in everything besides size and has the " look " of many of the other RSS kids I've seen, in my mind he has this condition. Have you checked out the MAGIC foundation and joined yet? I would highly recommend that as a starting point. They can even help you find a doctor in your area. Also, have you looked at all the pictures that are posted at the listserve site? That helped me a bunch when I first started researching. Good Luck - you'll get to the bottom of this - you are already a great mom for doing the research yourself! Guest guest
Peggy, my nutritional consultation with Dr. Blackstone's nutritionist was incredible. She went over all of the things I would be doing post surgery and made recommendations about things I might begin modifying now. It was SO informative. I learned things about the WHY of many of the post-surgery requirements that I had no clue about. Here's an example: Why do I have to drink 64 ounces of water a day? (winter dosage in Arizona) 1) Your pouch will always have less surface area to create digestive juices 2) Saliva is the substitute 3) You can't produce Saliva if you don't have sufficient hydration 4) People with BMIs over 40 are difficult, if not impossible, to hydrate sufficiently. Why can't I drink with my meals? 1) Your pouch will always have less surface area to create digestive juices 2) Your intestines don't like undigested food 3) Fluids with your meal cause your food to exit your stomach way too quickly to be properly digested. 4) You will get hungry much less quickly if your food stays in your stomach longer. You'll love your time with your nutritionist! Take all your questions with you! kindly, Patti in Tucson BMI 44 Waiting for CIGNA insurance approval At 05:07 AM 8/4/2003 +0000, you wrote: >Can anyone tell me what the nutrionist (spelling sorry) might be >covering with me tomorrow .. >thanks >Peggy
