Guest guest Posted June 7, 1999 Report Share Posted June 7, 1999 Aside from the debate about the etiology/presence of RLS during childhood and pregnancy, I think the real dilemma would what can you do about it? What medications can you safely use during pregnancy? What medications can you safely use during breastfeeding? For example, Celebrex is excreted in the breastmilk almost at the same levels as the serum concentration in the adult mom. That can't be good for a small infant, huh? What medications can you safely use on an infant or young child with a still developing brain, growing nerves, and immature organ systems. How can you test these meds on children? You know, they are using Prozac in children as young as three years of age with no safety studies! That is rather scary to me. Now that Prozac as gone generic and has competition from other alternatives, the drug companies are " going after " our children, if you know what I mean. IMHO RAINBOWPED@...
