Guest guest
I have a brace I wear at night for foot drop. When I sleep without it I wake up and my left foot is pointing straight out and it may take a half hour for it to straighten back to normal so I can walk. I do remember a doctor telling my mom when I was you to put my shoes on the wrong feet to try to straighten them. Aat that time they said I was just pigeon toed and would grow out of it. I was not diagnosed with CMT until I was 31, 2years ago. As for the pain, when your feet are turned in and deformed and it makes you walk wrong how could it not cause pain to you legs, hips and back. I know my body is so out of alignment when I walk that it has to be the reason that everything hurts. Of Course if the doctor doesn't have CMT or is one of the ones who has no pain with it he wouldn't know. My doctor is very good about not asuming he knows everything, becausehe says that CMT varies so greatly in each person. So if I have a knew problem we check everything before we decide if it is CMT related or not. Danieta
