Hello,

My nephew, whose mother has CMT, not sure about him, went thru a period a few

years ago (he is now 12) of terrible constipation. On a couple of occasions he

ended up at the Childrens Hospital for manual removal of impacted faeces and

administration of laxatives. Apparently it can be a vicious cycle, pain starts,

they become afraid of 'doing it', constipation gets worse and so the cycle

continues. He did grow out of it though and now he is fine. We dont know if he

has CMT yet so cant say if it was related to that, but it did resolve.

Apparently it is quite common amongst kids these days.
