Guest guest
<< I do not know what you are referring to " trolls " , what has been happening? What do you mean? >> This has nothing directly to do with CMTUS, but it does have to do with CMT. It is only about the MGH chat rooms. Some of the members of CMTUS also chat there, so I was informing them of the changes. A troll is a person who comes into a chat room with the intention of either disrupting everyone (foul language, extreme rudeness and such) or by filling the rooms with graphics so the site crashes and no one can chat. In the MGH chat rooms people with more than 90 different neurological diseases are chatting to one another, lending support, advice, and so forth, in real time. We aren't posting messages to be read later, like in a forum, or sending email. It's like being in a room with other people from around the world. There is a room for MS, ALS, CMT and so forth. All separate rooms. Unlike ordinary chat rooms, the MGH ones do not condone foul language or rude behavior. The CMT chat room has a reputation for friendliness until a troll comes in and is rude to people, or does the multiple graphics thing. Now, with registration the sysop can locate the troll, ban him from the site, and report him to his provider (ISP) - which often means the provider will drop him. Today the forum is working but the chat rooms may not be, at least not this morning.
