Guest guest
I have had nightmares all of my life. Most of the time my dreams have disfigurement themes, or an infection in my body, or I have a deformed child in my dream, and I wake up sobbing. I can guess why I have those dreams, though. Especially in the last year, when these dreams have become an issue, my body has changed drastically. My hands & feet no longer even look the way they used to, much less work the way they used to. None of my doctors have ever mentioned that CMT might have an effect on the brain itself, just the nerves in the body, although I was told (a billion times :-) ) that nightmares are not just caused by traumatic experiences, but by chemical imbalances in the brain. The same type of imbalances that cause some types of depression, manic depression & schizophrenia. All of my life, personally, drugs, prescription or otherwise, have always effected my mood, effected me psychologically & emotionally, sometimes quite bad. Advil depresses me. I vowed I would never do drugs again after I tried pot ONCE. I was on some medication for migranes that just screwed me up for WEEKS. Nuerontin did a helluva job on me, too. That's one reason why I stopped taking it, and it also didn't do much for my pain. Just made me feel stoned. Couldn't take it. When I asked my doctor if CMT had anything to do with why that happens, he said he couldn't rule the possiblity out, although he didn't know. He told me, and I'm only repeating this, that no signifigant study has been done on how CMT affects the brain itself. He could've been out-of-the-loop, or not up-to-date, I don't know. He always seemed competent to me, though. Has an answer to every other question I have. :-) Just my experience... svanlaarhoven@... ===== To act well in this world, one must die within oneself. Man is not on this earth to be simply happy, he is not there to be simply honest, he is there to realize great things for humanity, to attain nobility, and to surpass the vulgarity in wich the existence of almost all individuals drags on. -RENAN __________________________________________________
