Guest guest
Tomy, Welcome! I am here for the exact same reasons; my mother must take Sinemet for Parkinson's and it caused horrific, severe augmentation. She now takes Mirapex and Sinemet but then the latter, is again, for Parkinson's rather then RLS. You Mom might be fine just with the Mirapex and will need to adjust the dose upwards until the RLS symptoms are relieved. My mother was also very low on Ferritin and deficient on B-12. Once these two were corrected, her RLS symptoms improved 50% plus solely on this basis. Here are some links for you to learn more about Ferritin, a measure of the body's storage of iron (abundant supply necessary many think to take up what dopamine your mother's body is producing), B-12, Folic Acid, plus much more. I know what you have been through; it is so disheartening to see one's Mother suffering profoundly. Been there, done that, unfortunately. See the below; there is plenty of help and information available.
