Guest guest
Gretchen, Lamar here, I feel there is no connection akin to what you describe, and having worked in mental health care for 30 years, heard of none. The fact is that ANY chronic or debilitating disease or condition frequently leads to some degree of depression. We are limited in activities that were for most once commonplace. Our lives change. Depression is chemical, but is just one of the struggles many of us face. So, linked from birth very unlikely; but the result of our CMT and loss of things that were once stress relievers, yes. Depression is the most common psychiatric diagnosis in the world. The good part is that with the right medication, and therapy it is usually treatable. Often it takes experimentation to find the right medication or combination of medications for the individual.and any antidepressant takes about 7-14 days or more to see results. depression + CMT > Has anyone ever been told by your Dr. that your depression and CMT might > be linked - I mean something to do with a chemical imbalance at birth or > anything like that, that only later did the depression surface?
