Guest guest
When I fall (and it seems to be ever more frequently) I fall forward (knees) or to the side also. But backwards is not unheard of ;0) M

Guest guest
Hey Ya'll: Been a while since I've responded !!! Gretchin : I mostly fall forward, but not just to my knees. I have fallen and fractured my wrists from my knees locking and I just fall straight forward with no giving of the knees !!! I have also lost my balance and fell backwards but usually try to sit when I'm going over backwards !!! I am begining to have alot of wrist and hand problems due to my CMT !!! They are weak and it's hard to hold on to small objects, such as ink pens, silverware, ETC:!!! Can anyone relate to these problems??? Guest guest
Jeanie here. I fall equally forward and backwards. My knees aren't strong enough to catch myself if I stub my foot onn a rug or uneven floor. I agree that falling forward is least painful. If I fall backwards then my legs collapse and I end up with them behind me, (I sit on them) This is how I chipped the cartledge in my left knee several years ago. I was carrying a toodler and lost my balance. My top half went backwards and my legs folded at the knee (thus I sat on my legs while I was on my back), needless to say I got an ambulance ride to the hospital.... The pain was so terrible, I couldn't move and couldn't bear weight on my leg for almost a week. Jeanie
