Guest guest
The hyperactive muscles the program was talking about are those involved in the various types of dystonia. Spasm of the eyelids, the vocal cords, and other parts of the face. Diluted botulinum toxin injected directly into the muscles paralyzes them and they relax. It is also used cosmetically for people who have furrowed brows. A small amount of toxin is injected into the forehead and the brow muscles relax giving a smooth skin. It isn't used in RLS. While there may be muscle spasm in RLS, that is not the primary problem and the spasm is typically transient. Dr. Levin
