Guest guest
Hal... Trazadone is an antidepressant with a strong sedative effect. My doctor put me on it after some milder sedatives failed totally and I had become uneasy about continuing to take Clonopine. Trazadone does " put me to sleep " during most RLS attacks, but unless I am very careful about taking it about 30-45 minutes after I have eaten, I have had serious side effects, including heart palpatations, fainting, projectile vomiting and severe gastric distress (usually all in some combination!) My original dosage was 75 mg, but evidently I have developed a tolerance and now have to take 300 mg to sleep. And it's more like passing out than sleeping, but at least I'm not up til the wee hours walking the floor. Maybe once or twice a year I feel that I get a normal night's sleep, complete with remembered dreams. A strange thing to miss... but sometimes my dreams were the most exciting part of my life! LOL!
