Dear Group,

I am sending you all a copy of a letter I received from Jodi today so that we

can keep her in mind and say a prayer or two for her to feel better soon.

Subj: Wednesday

Date: 1/20/99 1:58:22 PM Eastern Standard Time

From: jmjudson@... (Jodi Judson)

To: MetaMom123@... (Connie)

Mom:

Just thought that I'd let you know what's been going on and why you haven't

heard much from me lately. As you know, I've been sick with one thing or

another since Christmas. Well, it seems that the virus that originally hit

me on Christmas (stomach) has manifested itself elsewhere now. After a very

frustrating day on the phone on Monday with my primary care doctor's

" staff " , I wound up going to the ER on Monday night. I've got pneumonia, an

upper respiratory infection, bronchitis and a sinus infection. How's that

for a combination? The antibiotics (Biaxin) are making me very nauseated and

I actually got sick last night after taking it, even after I had eaten a

decent meal before taking it. I called my primary today and she called in

another type of antibiotic (Bactrum) so we'll see how that goes. I'm taking

that along with Entex LA for the congestion. She told me that if I wasn't

feeling any better by tomorrow afternoon, they are probably going to

hospitalize me. What next? So much for my Gatlinburg trip this weekend, and

I was looking so forward to it, on top of really needing to get away. If I

don't wind up in the hospital, I may go anyway, just let somebody else do

the driving and just rest and relax at the cabin all weekend. Can't be any

different then resting here at home, and the scenery is alot prettier. I'll

keep you posted on what's going on. You can forward this to the group if you

want to....I'm going back to my favorite place lately....bed.

Love,

Jodi

Jody,

If you are up and reading this all I can say is you poor baby!!!! You have

sure had a year. After rereading your letter it dawned on me that my mom who

takes neurotin for her rls got pneumonia and was given biaxin which was too

strong and she ended up having a stoke...not to worry you (she is 89 and I am

sure that it was a compination of her age and the strong antibiotic). They

told me at the hospital that biaxin was jokeingly called the " slash and burn "

drug if you had a severe case and they wanted to get rid of it in a hurry.

Please get well soon and know I am saying a prayer for you.

Hugs and love

Lee
