Guest guest
Hi Group, just wanted to respond to the communications around the Neurontin. I've been on it for a couple of months now and some of the side effects I've noticed for me have been frequent urination at night. I must get up 3-4 times per night to use the bathroom. I'm usually able to go back to sleep but it is definetely disruptive. When I first started it I slept like a baby. I also take a 1/2 tab or Mirapex. My next noticeable problem with the Neurontin is that the good effects of it wear off pretty fast. I have had to increase it rapidly to keep it working but because of the weight gain since I've been on it I just can't increase it anymore, besides which I would probably have to sleep in the bathroom if I did that. ). I also noticed of late though that since about 3-4 weeks after taking the Mirapex my sleep has gone back to being very intermittent all night long. Again, I would probably have to increase meds to get better sleep again. The Mirapex does seem to cause insomnia even with the small dose I am taking. If anyone has had any similar problems please let me know. Also, ANDREW, I want to say that I was beginning to worry about you. Hadn't heard from you in a few days. Want to tell you that I got a script from my Ortho for Celebrex and for the first time in my life (fingers crossed) I'm taking an NSAID with no STOMACH problems. I think it is already started to show some signs of effectiveness. JODI, I am so happy to hear that you are on the road to recovery. Maybe all of our prayers have indeed helped and I'm am even happier to note your RLS symptom relief in these past for weeks. With all that is going on with you that has to be a blessing. Take care all and have a good day. Kathy/Cambridge

Guest guest
Hi Jim! My brother lived in Tampa area, actually Largo, about 2 miles from Indian Rock's beach and worked for E systems. Where you in any support group there? Not sure if Ron was, but he might have been! He used to take us down to Crabby Bill's-----only place I ever had alligator on a stick.... Guest guest
Hi Martha, Yeah, been to Crabby Bill's down there. Tampa has many, many good seafood places. Anyway, no, there wasn't any support groups down there in Tampa. There was a good orthopedic surgeon down there who was very aware of CMT. In fact, he was the one that suspected I had it and sent me to the MDA for further tests. I never did go through with the operations, (Cold feet, I guess. No pun intended) though he felt it would have helped tremendously. May have it done in the near future. I don't know of your brother's situation, but if he is contemplating surgery, he may want to contact him. His name was Dr. Epstein in Palm Harbor, Fl. Don't know if he is still in the same location, though. It's been a while. Re: Digest Number 214 From: marlari9@... Hi Jim!
