YOUR RIGHT THE TRIPLE IS NOT THE ANKLE I JUST HAD IT DONE AND I DO NOT HAVE MY

ANKLES DONE. THE TRIPLE OSTEOTOMY IS DONE FOR BALANCE ON THE TOES I DO BELIEVE

THEY FUSE THE TOE JOINTS BUT NOT THE ANKLE, AND YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN YOUR

DOCTOR CAUSE WHEN I HAD MY LEFT FOOT DONE THEY TOLD ME I DIDN'T NEED THIS DONE

AND WHEN THEY DID MY RIGHT FOOT THEY DID IT AND NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK IN AND

HAVE A NOTHER OPERATION CAUSE I NEEDED THE TRIPLE AFTER ALL. THEY TOLD ME THAT

IT'S LIKE FIRST YOU DO THE MAIN THINGS AND THEN YOU ADJUST THE REST, TILL

FINALLY YOUR FOOT IS RIGHT.THEY DON'T THINK OF ALL THE PAIN AND TIME YOU PUT

INTO THERE SCREWING AROUND BUT I GUESS THIS IS LIFE FOR US, NO BODY REALLY KNOWS

THAT MUCH ABOUT CMT OR THEY WOULD HAVE A CURE BY NOW.YES I WANTED TO KILL MY

DOCTOR BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO. I DON'T THINK THEY REALLY KNOW TILL THEY GET INSIDE

AND THEN IT'S A JUDGEMENT CALL, WE ALL KNOW HOW DIFFERENT WE ARE AND HOW

DIFFERENT THINGS HELP DIFFERENT PEOPLE SO I THINK THEY ARE UP AGAINST THE SAME

THING. I HOPE MY SURGERY LASTS A LONG TIME BUT IF NOT ,IM AT LEAST BETTER THEN

BEFOR. I THINK IF I KEPT WALKING ON THE SIDES OF MY TWO FEET I WOULD END UP IN A

WHEEL CHAIR I'M CLOSE TO THAT NOW,I AM 52 ALSO AND TRYING EVERY THING I CAN TO

KEEP ON GOING MONICA

Re: Foot SurgeryPEGGY-

No Theresa, I am not frustrated. I just would never go through it again not

for any reason. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it. I also said

that everyone is different and may have other foot problems. - when I was

asked, I said that I did not have any other problems. and that is fact.

and now am 52 - cmt has progressed greatly, and still have no other foot

problems except the ones caused by the surgery!!!! But, have had them for

many years, and put up with them. But, would never advise anyone else to

have the surgery. Also, I believe the triple is not the ankle - but might

be wrong - three more sets of bones in addition to my ankle were fused - all

the way to the toes - this is NOT an ankle fusion...... at least my other

doctors informed me that it was not.... maybe different doctors call it

different things, but still, many people talk about have the triple, and NOT

the ankle. Does this make any sense to you???? Doesn't to me, if ankle is

part of the triple. My doctor lied to me - and admitted it afterwards that

he did not have my permission to do the other joints.... as he was not

suppose to do them. So, since I am not a doctor, I don't know, but I do

believe that your doctor and mine are of a totally different mine!! But

then that is not unusual either......

Have a good night.
