Guest guest
Eleanor, Now that's the most encouraging bit of news I've heard in a long time. Just today I was in the health food store to purchase Rutin. The person who helped me asked if I needed it for my eyes. I said no, I needed it for restless leg syndrome. She looked perplexed, and said, " Restless Light Syndrome? " So of course I attempted to explain it (something I usually try to avoid), telling her it was LEG, not Light,. and she looked even more bewildered. This is so frustrating, but kind of funny in a way - anyway I try to see the funny side of things, but at times it's a stretch! I know I should overcome this reluctance to talk to people about it - it's been pointed out to me that the best way to educate the public is to SHARE! Am really bad at that, except here in this group, where no explaining is necessary. Hope your son enjoys his new career - at least he has first hand knowledge of the problem, along with having it included in his training. ne, 59, Lawrenceville, NJ On Sun, 14 Feb 1999 00:32:43 -0800 E Gustavson gramgus@...> writes: > > >My adult son who has recently (at the age of 51) received his RN >license >is now taking tests to qualify as a Critical Care Nurse. Guest guest
Fellow sufferers: It was good to read Eleanor's letter about nurses' training in RLS. A few years ago, I was asked to talk to a bunch of student neurologists in Baltimore and explain my experiences with RLS. At that time, I was told that my presentation and a few subsequent words by the instructor after I spoke, would be the ONLY instruction these doctors would get on RLS their entire time in medical school. Kinda depressing. Now, maybe things are starting to change! Pleasant dreams folks.
