Guest guest
Thanks to all responded. I have been off and on Prozac for years and only recently noticed it making things worse.I have always been an avid sunbather and now I have a lot of leg jerks when I try to lay in the sun. I first ''got''RLS when I was pregnant 15 years ago, but did have growing pains in my legs as a child. Any connection? It gets worse when my boyfriend gets into bed because I get a pit in my stomach , afraid it is going to start up.(Which is usually does) Right now I take the Sinemet 1 hour before bed ,4 aspirin and 2 Valerian Root at bedtime. I take calcium and Kava Kava in the a.m. My boyfriend says I am a pill junkie but hey it works! It is just too exhausting trying to explain this to yet another doctor. I am really frustrated with trying to find the underlying cause of this. I'm doomed.

It is shame when people don't understand the misery that we suffer and our never-ending search for some relief. Your boyfriend would be a " pill junkie " too if he knew what it was like to have RLS. I have caught myself sneaking around to make sure no one was looking (even my family) when I needed to take my meds. This is nuts! Why should we be so ashamed and embarassed about our disorder/syndrome? I think we should work on being more proactive and not feel that we have some dirty shameful problem. I think this is a hold-over from the not-to-distant " old " days when we were told and/or we heard as children our mother or father being told that it was all in their head, if you know what I mean.
