Guest guest
Edith Oh, I don't think the weight gain is just you. I have gained 10 pounds in the past year since I have been taking Mirapex. I just can't get full. My script for taking Mirapex is about what your's is. The meds that we use do " powerful " things to our neurotransmitters and our bodies, not to mention the whole " addiction " & drug withdrawal issue. Some people can " simply " drop one med and start another one but for many, it just ain't that easy, if you know what I mean. When you go from one drug to another drug in the same class, e.g. from one benzo to another benzo, it is usually not as much of a problem; however, when you " jump " drug classes, watchout and be careful. Go slow and let your doc know if you are having problems. When I was switched from Klonopin to Permax, I was simply told to stop one and to start another. When I kinda protested and inquired about weaning/withdrawal/side effects, the doc thought about it and then instructed me on how to gradually make the switch. As a general rule, anytime you have been taking a medicine for a long time, especially meds like Tegretol, benzos and such, you must be very careful about going cold turkey, you know! RAINBOWPED@...
