Yo, all interested parties, Wayne A. Henning, MD, Ph.D., will be our guest

speaker at the 1/31/99 meeting. The meeting takes place in Warminster, PA. The

meetings run usually between 2pm and 4pm.

Dr. Hening is a Neurologist who specializes in both sleep and movement

disorders. He received his doctoral degrees from NYU. His Ph.D. research was

conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Kandel.

At Columbia, he took a fellowship under the direction of Dr. Stanley Fahn, a

noted expert on movement disorders, and Dr. Claude Ghez, whose laboratory

analyzes the details of how humans produce accurate movement At Columbia, Dr.

Hening began work with the RLS disorder together with Dr. Arthur Walters,

founder and Chair of the International RLS study group.

Dr. Hening focuses on sleep and movement disorders. He is certified as a

specialist and a clinical electrodiagnostician ( the specialist who does tests

of nerve, muscle, and brain function using EEG, EMG, and related techniques.)

His research into RLS with Dr. Walters has extended over 16 years.

To ALL RLS GROUP MEMBERS IN THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION, Dr. Hening is a

" heavyweight " in the RLS field and it may be wise to come meet him. He was at

the Sept. meeting, was very gracious and stayed to answer any and all

questions. The PA group is a microcosm of our group, a mixed bunch from every

walk of life.

The BIG BUMMER is that our group leaders, Ed and Katheryn Overman scheduled

this meeting on SUPER BOWL SUNDAY. It should be over before the game. This

could be a sparsely attended meeting but if football is not your " style " , then

an intimate setting with Dr. Hening could be very beneficial to any that

attend.

Email me if you would like more info. or directions.
