Guest guest
Magnet therapy is a total scam!!! Double blind studies prove it. In some the people that were treated with dummy magnets(just lead weights) claimed more improvement than those that got actual magnets! Many people swear by them for a while before realizing their improvements were coincidental or wishful thinking. Save your money! Guest guest
We've had some VERY heated debates in the group about magnets. I happen to believe they are worth a try. My hubby and I have had success with them for several things like tendonitis, strains, tender muscles, etc. My mother has stopped thigh pain that nothing else will work on. I've used insole magnets for a big toe strain (carpul tunnel of the big toe), caused by dancing, too much. I think they've really helped my toe heal faster. But my RLS is still there. Never noticed a correlation. BUT....there are different brands, different strengths, some are mixed fields and some have all the magnets pointing the same direction so you get all negative or all positive sides toward you. Best thing to do is: 1. Don't get your hopes up TOO high, but DO believe they MIGHT work. 2. Don't invest any more money than you are will to lose. 3. Try different brands before giving up. 4. If it doesn't work...don't throw them out. If you ever strain your toe or just have sore feet, they might be the answer for that, even if they don't help the RLS. I suspect they could help SOME people's RLS and not others, just because we all seem to have different causes for our RLS. If yours is more related to circulation and IF magnets help with circulation...then you might have luck. But if yours is from lower back pain or nerve damage, and magnets don't help that problem, then your RLS might not respond to them. Gotta experiment and be careful of the cost. I've never heard of harm that can come from magnet therapy...except to your pocket book. Guest guest
If the magnets don't work, can they be used on the refrigerator? My luck, I would walk too close to my computer or some disks and the magnets would erase them. Since my livelihood is working with computers, maybe I should skip this remedy!!! Lindy B.
