Hi Joan: Betty here. I want to let you know Disney is great for handicapped

people. I went three years ago and rented a wheelchair at every kingdom we

went to. They also have scooters to rent but they are more expensive.

Seaworld down there is great also. You do get preferential treatment as to

getting on the rides first which is kinda of nice. Hope you have a great

trip. I have a friend who went two weeks ago and she said the millennium

events are just spectacular!

One place I have given up on is the beach. Can't walk on the sand.

This is the longest message I have written. Thanks for your patience.

You get on all the rides first when you have a WC. I watched several

teenagers playing hurt to get on the rides first at magic mountain.

Hi Joan,

I was in Disney World last April, I was on crutches at the time following an

operation the previous September. It was fairly easy, there are lots of

seats (I only went to the Magic Kingdom). There were a few places where

they let me jump the que (line). I did not see any carts taking people

about, but they probably are there! Generally walking around was not too

hard, American people I found are very good about giving you space when you

are on crutches, British people often look at you as if to say,'what are you

doing on crutches'.

I had to use my crutches as I had to conserve my ankles as I was driving

from New York to Chicago via Florida and New Orleans. I found the people at

American Airlines and America West very accomodating to me while on

crutches.

Hope this is useful to you

Dominic
