I applied 2,1/2 months ago for S.S.I. and after filling out the paper

work, and them getting my medical records, they sent me to a neurologist of

theirs. I got a letter today saying I was approved. Guess I am lucky since

I've alway heard it can take months/years and a lot of fighting to get it.

Becky ...

You were VERY lucky ... My friend suffers from severe chronic pain and was

unable to work anymore. It took him over a year of jumping through hoops to

get approved for disability. My understanding is that they assume you are

lying and just trying to get on the dole ... (even though our taxes allow SSI

to exist). Which reminds me of an old saying ... " Behind the compassionate,

benevolent, kind smile of the mask of socialism, lies the iron fist of the

totalitarian state. " My feet hurt!

, you might want ot write a thank-you note to

your Dr.... Your Dr. knew how to word his report in

order for you to be approved on the medical part.

I had to see a SSD doctor last week and I was in with him maybe 5 minutes. He

did not even look at my feet or hands. He had me to walk across the floor

with my braces and socks on. there is no way he could testifie as to the

extent of my problems with this exam. I was so disappointed and if I get

turned down because of his exam you can be sure I will get a lawyer.

Jeanie, I think I need to write a thank you note to the neurologist that

Social Security sent me to!!

This man was very knowledgable about CMT, shocking isn't it? He

examined me from head to toe and back again. He saw at once I had the

problems I stated I had in the paper work from S.S.I.

At the end of this examine I asked his opinion as to my getting

approved. He said he had no problems telling me his opinion. He said you

have a lot of problems CMT related. I have a few CMT patients I treat and

your case is the worst I have come across. In my opinion, you are disabled,

with no cure as yet available, you will always be disabled, and thats what I

intend to write in my report.

I asked him if he was talking new patients, he said yes, and smiled.

I liked him at once and am really thinking of changing Dr's. >Becky M.

Danieta ...

This is the same type of shabby treatment that my friend with chronic pain

ran into. Because they couldn't see an open wound, the People of Officialdom

kept assuming that he was faking. My friend eventually got on disability,

but it took him over a year. He was turned down a couple of times, but he

just kept coming back and eventually used the services of an attorney.

Sometimes it takes a real effort to get through the thick heads of the

controllers and the bureaucrats, which brings to mind one of the major

advantages of a fascistic system: it gives every little Nazi piss ant his own

little hill to piss from. The problem is ... while Mr. Official exerts his

power and strokes his ego, the rest of us must suffer. Hang in there and keep

plugging away Danieta, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. :o)

" Ella " says hello to everyone ...
