Guest guest
Hi.... I just joined your list..... I can't believe found a group of people that can actually can discuss this with me!!!! I can't wait to hear what different medication that have been tried and what peoples experiences with them have been. A little about me... I'm 40 years old. I experienced rlsdoff and on as a child, It got worse while I was pregnant then went back to the normal " at the movies " , " long car rides " etc.. About 6 years ago it became really bad, I was taking antidepressants at the time. And I'm sure as each of you has experienced the Dr. looks at you with a blank expression and just shrugs it off. I finally found a Dr. that started trying to figure out what it was. She tried injections of Cortisone etc. and sent me to my current neurologist. She treated me with several medications. When she put me on Levedopa, I thought I'd gone to heaven just because I could actually lay down at night. After about a year I was ready literally to end it. My life was absolutely torture, I have it in both arms and legs, day and night. I was getting literally 1-2 hours of sleep a night when I would literally just crash from exhaustion, I was drugged-up and stumbling around during the night I even fell and got a black eye on my coffee table. I can't tell you how bad it was, I couldn't even " sit down " , let alone " sleep " I spent my waking hours jumping up and down in place crying even though it had been days since I had slept, needless to say you really can't live long this way. I really did though for about a year. Then she put me on Permax, I again I thought I was in heaven and found relief. That was two years ago, but I would really like to find something that didn't knock me out to work. I went in to day and had her change me to Mirapex. I have been able to control it on Permax but I wake up with rls in the mornings 4:30, but when I get up and moving it's ok till about 2:00 in the afternoon I try to not take my med. till about 5:00 then at bedtime but once I do I am worthless. I read somewhere where some people have insomnia with Mirapex. What do most people on this list take. Sorry this has been so long... I still can't believe I found someone to talk to about it...:0) Cindy
