It bothers me that we seem to be getting into a " spitting " contest about

" mild " RLS is less important than " severe " RLS. The bottom line is that it is

still RLS!

RLS comes and goes, can be bad and can be a nuisance, you have good " days " and

bad " days " ; but, if you got it, you got it.

I deal a lot with diabetes and I never hear this sort of discussion on

diabetic e-mail lists. They all have diabetes......some have Type 1 and take

insulin shots and some have Type 2 and pop a pill......some have terrible

complications, e.g. kidney transplant, while others are cruising along just

watching what they eat. BUT, no one denies the other's very real and very

personal battle with diabetes nor does anyone belittle the other person's

diabetes based on mild, severe and such.

As with any disease/illness, there are always going to be degrees of

illness....mild, moderate and/or severe; none, some or severe complications.

Those with mild RLS should be happy and those of us with severe RLS should be

happy for them. Those with severe RLS should seek out support and help from

others along with the " mild " RLS'ers.

IMHO

In response - I really don't think that in most cases (and I know not in

mine) that folks are really saying that they think theirs (RLS or

whatever) is worse than anyone elses . When we simply comment on our

severity and why or why not this or that doesn't work, someone always

sugggests that it's a battle of the " baddest " . I don't think that's the

case. Do you really?
