Yo FFBUD,

Sounds like PLMS - Periodic Limb Movements while Sleeping - , if you ask me.

You said that while you sleep your movements disturb your wife. This is

definitely PLMS because RLS is present when AWAKE, not asleep. Many people

have PLMS and don't have RLS. To my knowledge there is only one kind of RLS.

Indeed, as evidenced by this group, there seems to be a thousand ways to get

it.

There is NO test for RLS. A few short questions by your physician will usually

lead to a POSSIBLE diagnosis of RLS. PLMS CAN be measured via a sleep study.

Good luck to you.

Yo FFBUD,

Let me correct myself a bit. There IS primary and secondary RLS. Also, you

mentioned a motorcycle accident twenty years ago. Did you have RLS before

that? My RLS was trauma induced and I was curious about your RLS. RLS also

tends to get worse through the years, but that is not an absolute. Take care.

When my wife is in bed with me and complaining about my movements

keeping her awake I know my legs bother me more because thats all I

think about.

If she gets up and goes into another bedroom it seems like the pressure

if off me and I can relax more and then go to sleep. In other words I

KNOW some of this is in my mind. Also I went to a nuelologist (bad

speller) yesterday and said (Im not sure how this went) there are two

kinds of rls, one requires more tests and the one he said I had. I did

not require as many. Maybee the one I have is more mental type than the

other one. Since mine seems more mental than the other one. Am I getting

redundent here?

I even thought I might be allergic to my wifes perfume or something (or

even her)

because when I sleep alone I hardly ever get rls. The doctor gave me a

script for sinemet 25/100 tabs and I had a pretty good nites sleep last

nite (even with my wife in bed with me).
